Abstract

A key prerequisite for achieving academic success is teacher performance. Using work motivation as an intervening variable, this study attempts to ascertain how the work environment and pay affect teachers' performance. This research examines teachers who teach in 16 Private High Schools (SMAS) in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang. who have the same characteristics, namely recipients of School Operational Assistance and have the status of a normal high school, not an SPK (Cooperative Education Unit). The sampling technique used in this research was Proportional Random Sampling with a total sample of 130 teachers with division using the Taro Yaname formula. The data analysis technique in this research uses SEM (Structural Equation Model) based on PLS (Partial Least Square). According to the study's findings, work environment and compensation have a positive and significant impact on work motivation. Work environment, compensation, and work motivation all have a positive and significant impact on teacher performance. Additionally, work motivation mediates the positive and indirect effects of the work environment and compensation on teacher performance
