Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between age and perceptions of smartphone usage, focusing on various dimensions such as ease of use, satisfaction with interfaces, frequency of technical issues, multitasking capabilities, security features, and overall value. Through a quantitative analysis, significant associations were identified, notably a positive correlation between age and the perception of smartphones as easy to use in daily activities. However, most dimensions remained largely consistent across different age groups, suggesting that once users acclimate to a device, age may not significantly impact overall satisfaction. The findings challenge the assumption that age is a primary determinant of user experience and highlight the importance of technological familiarity and adaptability. Practical implications emphasize the need for user-centric design, targeted marketing strategies, robust customer support, and inclusive product development to address the diverse needs of users across age demographics. Recommendations for future research include exploring other demographic factors, the role of technological literacy, and the impact of emerging technologies on user perceptions. This study contributes to existing literature on technology acceptance and user experience, offering valuable insights for stakeholders in the smartphone industry to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
