Transformation of Lonto Leok Values in Learning: Efforts to Improve Elementary School Students' Dialectical Competence Based on Manggarai Local Wisdom

This study investigates how the values of lonto leok change in the learning process in an effort to improve the dialectical skills of elementary school students in Manggarai Regency, Flores. Lonto leok is a local wisdom of Manggarai which means "sitting in a circle", with lonto meaning sitting and leok meaning circle. This tradition shows the consensus system of Manggarai culture. The purpose of this study is to see how the values of lonto leok can be transformed into a learning model that can improve students' dialectical skills. This study investigates various literatures on the lonto leok tradition and its relationship to the development of elementary school students' dialectical skills. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method and a literature study approach. The results of the study indicate that the values of lonto leok can be effectively integrated into the learning process if a student leads a circle discussion. In its implementation, each student is given the same opportunity to speak, ask questions, and provide responses. In addition to improving students' speaking skills, this process instills the principles of democracy, tolerance, and respect for local wisdom. According to this study, the values of lonto leok should be systematically included in the elementary school curriculum. This is an innovative way to improve students' dialectical skills that rely on local wisdom
