Sundanese culture is part of the identity of the people of West Java which is manifested through art, language and traditional games. The presence of information and communication technology and massive globalization have blurred national boundaries so that the entry of foreign culture in the form of popular culture into West Java has become a necessity. Of course, this could be a threat to the security of Sundanese culture so it needs to be responded to immediately. One form of this response can be carried out with diplomatic steps taken by West Java. This paper uses a qualitative approach through data collection by means of documentation studies, archival studies and internet-based studies. The concepts used are regional diplomacy and cultural security. This research shows that efforts that can be made diplomatically to deal with foreign popular culture are by strengthening both governmental and social aspects of the people of West Java and promoting Sundanese culture abroad by the region. This research also shows that there is limited coordination between the parties as regional actors in West Java in carrying out regional diplomacy and minimal involvement of social actors, especially youth, in preserving Sundanese cultural traditions in West Java
