Improvement of Cellular Network Quality in Simarasok Area Baso District

Actual signal measurements on 2G and 4G networks as a reference for improving the quality of cellular networks in Nagari Simarasok, Baso District on the measurement parameters of Rxlevel, RSRP, SINR, and throughput. Measurement of these parameters using the drivetest method using the Tems pocket device, for data analysis using Tems discovery and atoll. The results of the drivetest have an average performance of GSM and LTE in the category that is not good, as evidenced in the Rxlevel parameter of 24.378% in the range >-95, in the RSRP parameter of 10.51% with the range (-100 dBm ≤ X < -110 dBm), in the SINR parameter of 29.783% with the range (0 dB ≤ X < 20 dB), in the throughput parameter of 2.18% with a range < 512. This measurement is carried out to determine the bad spot area at the indosat operator. After the analysis, it was found the cause of poor network quality in the area. The cause is the problem of bad spot areas in the form of hilly obstacles. The obstacle resulted in a decrease in service quality, especially the SINR parameter. Optimization needs to be done to improve SINR parameters so that RSRP parameters also increase. From the area improvement analysis, physical tunning optimization is carried out to overcome the bad spots that occur. The physical tunning optimization used includes antenna tilting to improve bad spots weak coverage and re-azimuth to improve bad spots.
