Abstract

In substrate hydroponic farming that uses a fertigation irrigation system, melon plants receive a supply of fertilizer through a drip irrigation system. The semi-automatic irrigation system shows inefficiency. An innovative automatic fertigation irrigation system is needed that regulates water discharge and distributes fertilizer evenly for each plant. The location of the plant that is farthest from the water source, there is a decrease in the supply of water and nutrients. Automatic fertigation irrigation applications require additional tools, namely flow meter sensors, automatic timers, drippers. Carried out at UPA Green House Polije, planting from October to December 2023. Results from observations of plant height vegetation showed that plant height was optimized up to 137 cm at 30 days of age. The impact of using automatic fertigation irrigation has increased yield productivity by 576 kg. Economically, there is an increase in income due to quality melons with a sweetness level reaching 14.5% to 17%. The innovative use of an automatic fertigation irrigation system is able to make the discharge and distribution of nutrients more efficient and has an impact on vegetation growth and increasing economic value
